Katie has been drawn to many creative expressions throughout her life, attending University for Theatre with a concentration in acting. Writing, however, was her first creative outlet and one she is still passionate about. "Within me" is a collection of poems, journals, and stream of consciousness writing about life and art, separately and intertwined.

They are the moments, stories, thoughts and feelings during her healing journey, shared in no particular timeline, with the intention to help the reader feel less alone. To feel seen, and heard, and maybe even inspired.

She hopes that everyone finds the courage to believe in themselves more, and that dramatic change is possible.

Katie always says that her art is "her insides on the outside" and these writings are the same expression, simply with words instead of paint.
